Our organization is a non-governmental, non-profit making venture committed to providing a vibrant cross-cultural platform and supportive environment for Oromo community members in and around Dallas metropolitan.
1.1The principal office of the Oromo Community, Inc. is located in Dallas, Texas, USA.
1.2 The Board of Directors may change the principal office from one location to another within the Dallas Fort Worth area by noting the changed address and effective date, and such changes of address shall not be deemed, nor required, an amendment of these Bylaws.
The Oromo Community, Inc. is organized exclusively for one or more of the purposes specified in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, including for such purposes, like social, emotional and physical services of members to one another.
The specific objective and purposes of the Oromo Community, Inc. in the Dallas is to assist the newly arriving Oromo immigrants in the Dallas Fort Worth area to be smoothly integrated into the new (American) socio-economic environment, to encourage through education and other social activities the appreciation of the Oromo people for their culture, language, and heritage. The Oromo community thrives to serve and educate Oromos in the DFW area to be good citizens that care for its larger community. We do our best to keep our cultural heritage and also try to share life with other community members of the DFW. The detailed purpose of the community is explained in the Bylaws of the organization.
The Dallas Oromo Community is governed by a Board of Directors and an Executive Committee.

We are committed to working in partnership with the government, business, and most especially the socio-humanitarian community in the City of Dallas in our continuous strive to add positive value to our individual and collective mind, body, and spirit.
We Oromo Community Dallas INC aim to Promoting Identity Culture and Stronger Community through community projects and events focused on reaching out to people.
We aim to bring life to the entire DFW Community.
Our aim is to strengthen common values by promoting cultural and community-based activities.
To support and empower the community, asylum seekers, and the deprived in the Community by educating, training and rendering services for Community integration.
To support celebrate the potential in our Youth and also empower them.
We aim to promote equality and diversity by discussing issues that will help integrate Oromos with other fellow Africans in the DFW area and beyond.
Our aim is not only to promote the Oromo culture but to learn about other cultures and promote unity and peace amongst Ethiopians living in the DFW and beyond.
We aim to liaise with other Oromo Associations in the US, to learn the American culture and promote laws and order within the society.
Oromia is reach in culture and we aim to showcase our cultural heritage as well as be part of US’ multi-cultural society.
- Provide an inviting, accessible and safe community environment as a focal point for all Oromo residents.
- Develop programmes, services and activities channeled to the social, cultural, recreational, welfare and educational needs of the Oromo community.
- Establish networks with other groups, community leaders and key agencies to pool resources and take up issues of concern for the benefit of the community.
- To establish strategic partnerships with key organizations, and in particular, the City of Dallas.
